Life in Trimurti

OUR TOGETHERNESS

Living Naropa’s Vision

Life at Trimurti is held by a dedicated team of residents, supported by short and long-term visitors. Together, we live by the guidance of our master and friend Naropa, in the spirit of seva. Selfless service to the community, by practical care for the centre, development, taking care of Naropa’s retreats and hosting external groups.

Life is not divided into "service" and "spirituality." Instead, each task is an opportunity for awareness. Each day follows a rhythm of meditation, seva, and moments of connection, balanced with space for silence and enjoying the surrounding nature. Year round, we shift from organizing Naropa’s retreats, hosting external groups or living together. However, our focus always lies on the realization of our true nature.

Encounter is an important element of our togetherness. It means we don’t hide anything, we are encouraged to show and express ourselves. We are not escaping, not avoiding, but we encounter; this can be confronting. By being on this path we make the commitment of living truthfully towards ourselves and others.

If we get triggered by a person or situation, we acknowledge that the pain or tension is inside of us and take responsibility for it, instead of putting the blame on the other person or situation. This encourages maturity.

COMMUNAL LIVING

Collective Care

Seva

The ‘Karma Yoga’ aspect, selfless service to the community. Developing, maintaining and beautifying the place.

Development

Nothing is permanent, except of the ongoing building projects at the centre. We are always evolving and improving.

Home Office Support

The rhythm allows space for those balancing remote professional work alongside community life.

The Hosting Spirit

In order to support Trimurti to flourish, the sangha often comes to help host external groups. Residents have the role of hosting Naropa retreats.

DIFFERENT WAYS TO LIVE IN TRIMURTI

Trimurti Team Structure

There are several ways to stay at Trimurti for a longer period, each contributing to the whole in a different way. Whether coordinating an area of the centre or balancing external work with community life, every member of the Trimurti helps develop and maintain the place.

Long-Term Visitor

Supporting Resident

Supporting residents commit to being available for the centre and for Naropa’s retreats, without the coordination responsibilities. This role is ideal for those who maintain their own "home office" work while remaining a stable presence in the community. To become a resident, one must be clearly committed to their path with Naropa.

Coordinating Resident

Coordinating residents are the backbone of Trimurti. They carry the core responsibilities of the centre. Each coordinator manages specific areas such as: the kitchen, projects, event operations, accounting, and more. Holding the "end responsibility" for the functioning of those departments. They hold the vision, make decisions together, and guide the overall direction of Trimurti. This role requires deep commitment, leadership capacity, and alignment with the spirit of Naropa.
